After a painful year full of lockdowns and the suspension of all sporting events, the summer of 2021 sees the much awaited return of some of the biggest sporting tournaments across the globe. Euro Cup 2020

The 2020 UEFA European Football championship was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak and rescheduled for summer 2021. The tournament, to be held in 11 cities in 11 UEFA countries, was originally scheduled from June 12, 2020 to July 12, 2020. The new dates have now been scheduled between June 11, 2021 and July 11, 2021. The European tournament will be referred to as Euro 2020 and keep its original title rather than be relabeled as Euro 2021.

Major stadiums such as Wembley Stadium in London are scheduled to host several games, the semi-finals and final both being played at the iconic English venue. With lots of faith and hope stemming from their tournament run in the 2018 World Cup, many eyes are on the English National team. Their first clash against World Cup 2018 finalists Croatia will be a fan favorite event.

The Stadio Olimpico in Rome is also a notable venue, being chosen to host the opening game, involving Turkey and hosts Italy. The Italian domestic league had excitement until the final matchday, many are hoping that their domestic rivalries can be put aside for a chance at National glory.

Portugal are currently the defending European champions, having won the tournament in 2016. Their french-speaking counterparts in France are currently the defending World champions, having won the World Cup in 2018. Both will be looking for a back-to-back National title, as they both fight it out with European heavyweights Germany in Group F.

Belgium, Netherlands and Spain are all notable contenders with deeply talented squads and massive fanbases.

Copa América 2021

CONMEBOL Copa América (CONMEBOL America Cup), is the main men's football tournament between national teams from CONMEBOL . It is the oldest continental football competition, and the second oldest international football competition, after the Olympic Football Tournament , and is the third most watched competition. This competition determines the champions of South America and will be the 47th edition of the event. This South American football tournament was originally scheduled to take place from June 12, 2020 to July 12, 2020 as the 2020 Copa América. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in South America , the tournament had been postponed for a year, alongside UEFA 's decision to also postpone UEFA Euro 2020 to 2021. The Copa America tournament will take place in Brazil from June 13, 2021 to July 10, 2021.

Chile takes on rivals Argentina in Buenos Aires on the opening day, a great matchup to kickoff the group stages of the tournament.
